Multipurpose Ground-Based Robotic Complex
Why SlimAK?
SlimAk is an unmanned robotic complex designed as a ground-based wheeled platform with full 4x4 drive. It is intended for logistics, minelaying, reconnaissance, and kamikaze missions. The basic configuration features an articulated frame, enabling operation in difficult terrain where increased mobility is required. This design provides excellent maneuverability, stability, and exceptional reliability, as well as an optimal balance between weight and payload capacity. The articulated wheeled chassis allows the platform to safely overcome steep inclines, while its small turning radius enables effective operation in confined areas, especially in forested terrain. The maximum driving speed is 10 km/h. Logistics transportation is carried out using two modular cargo frames that are easily mounted on the wheeled platform. The maximum payload capacity of the GRC is 120 kg. Thanks to the high power of the electric motors, SlimAk is capable of climbing steep slopes while fully loaded. This is particularly evident when the GRC accidentally ends up in a shell crater and can easily drive out of it. For logistics operations involving large cargo volumes, a specially designed trailer can be attached to the wheeled base. For evacuation missions, a dedicated trailer designed for casualty evacuation can also be used. In the minelaying role, the wheeled platform carries four anti-tank mines and is equipped with an appropriate release system. This model is equipped with two day/night driving cameras: front and rear. For reconnaissance purposes, the system can be additionally equipped with an extra camera mounted on a telescopic mechanism, which rises to a height of up to 1.8 m and features three degrees of rotation. High image quality is ensured by digital communication. The power system consists of DC electric motors with a total output of 3.2 kW, gearboxes, and two removable lithium batteries with a total capacity of 140 Ah. This configuration allows the platform to travel up to 35 km on a single charge with a payload of 80 kg. In reconnaissance mode, the drone can travel approximately 12 km, remain in observation mode for up to 5 days, and return. With an additional battery, the observation time can be extended to 7 days. The ground drone can be equipped with any communication system: Starlink, ELRS, Wi-Fi, or fiber optic. In the basic configuration, the primary communication channel is Starlink, while the backup channel is ELRS. The radio communication range for control and video transmission without a repeater reaches up to 8 km. When using fiber optic communication, the fiber spool is a consumable component that is easy to replace and can be configured with a length of up to 20 km. With fiber optic control, the drone can travel up to 20 km one way (e.g., in a kamikaze role) or up to 10 km with return (e.g., for minelaying or reconnaissance missions). Fiber winding onto spools is performed using proprietary equipment. The number and length of spools depend on mission requirements and can be adjusted accordingly. Thanks to the backup radio channel, the risk of losing the GRC due to fiber damage is minimized.
